In July of 2007 I proposed to have salaries of city positions posted on the city website for the convenience of the taxpayer. I was met with great opposition, the mayor even suggested I was proposing to post the W-2's of employees. One thing was consistent, all agreed that this information was available for anyone through FOIA (Freedom of Information Act).
So why not post information that anyone can get on the city's website for their convenience? Especially when we are talking about positions paid for by taxpayer dollars.
