Now is the time to revitalize our schools and community. As a city we can only be as good as the students we produce. We have the best ingredients in our families and faculty, but we lack the facilities needed to meet 21st century standards.
For far too long our quality students, parents, and faculties have been overshadowed by old, tired buildings. We need Sustainable buildings that will:
- Improve indoor air quality (IAQ), allowing our students, teachers, and staff to learn and work in the healthiest indoor environment.
- Reduce absenteeism and improve productivity
- Increase learning and teaching abilities, resulting in better grades and higher test scores
- Save energy and reduce maintenance cost
My School Re-Investment Plan includes pulling together school and city officials, community businesses, as well as city, state, and the federal government. It is time to stop talking about working together and work together!
We will stop wasting taxpayer dollars on unnecessary projects, put money back into the hands of taxpayers, and open the door to the rebirth of the Taylor School District.The time has come for Taylor to become leaders in educational innovation.
As your mayor, I will work hand-in-hand with school officials, exhausting all avenues to attain any available resources that will get the job done. It’s time the city does its part!
